Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if someone needs deliverance from Evil Spirits?

Evil Spirits work very hard at keeping undercover through hiding behind secret places the Bible calls strongholds. One rarely encounters the spirit directly. However, it is through discernment (listening to the voice of the Lord Jesus) and through the application of the truth of God’s Word that a demonic attachment in our lives is recognized. Jesus said of the Devil in John 10:10, The thief comes only to steal, and kill and destroy;… If there is anything in our lives that is stealing, killing and destroying then the Enemy of our Souls is at work. In the Book of James the 3rd Chapter and the verses 11and 12 we read, “Does a fountain send out from the same opening bother fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Neither can salt water produce fresh.”  It is here we find a spiritual principal. The kind of fruit is the indicator of the kind of root. Where there is a rotten fruit, there’s a rotten root.

Where can I find the answers to my questions and the help I need?

It is the truth that makes us free (John 8:32). The answers to our questions concerning spiritual matters are only found in God’s Word. “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joint and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” The Bible is much more than a mere ancient book. It has supernatural power in The Invisible War with the Powers of Darkness. In it you will find the truth that can set you free. For every lie of the Enemy there is an answer in the truth of the Scriptures. A Counseling Ministry that practices a biblical world view will be the best place for you to get help. A list of some of these wonderful ministries of help is provided for you on the Need Help Page of this, The Invisible War Website.

Why don’t more of our churches and institutions teach and practice the ministry of deliverance?

There has always been those in church history who taught and practiced the ministry of casting out demons.  Even in my Baptist tradition, one only has to talk to our hundreds of missionaries around the world concerning these matters.  Most of our pastors have their "demon stories" from their ministry encounters.  I have heard many of them throughout the years as it has come up in conversation.  Just because we have not gone "public" with these matters, one cannot preclude that the church doesn't believe and practice deliverance.  As I have stated in this book, I do believe  that since so many of our children are now in spiritual bondage and spiritual jeopardy, the church can no longer ignore getting them help.  Because of the great spiritual needs of this generation, our churches institutions must begin to teach people how to be used of God to set the captives free.

Who is Satan and why are we in a war with him and his evil spirits?

There are as many as 40 different names of the Devil in the Bible.  It tells us in Isaiah 14 that Satan was named Lucifer and led a (coup de' ta), a rebellion in the heavens against the one true creator God.  One third of all the Angels followed Satan's rebellion.  We know them as demons or evil spirits.  Satan is bitter and full of hate and anger aimed at God.  Through Jesus' sacrifice of His blood on Cavalry, Satan has been eternally defeated (Col. 2:13-15). Man was created by God to love and worship God, to serve and cooperate with God to bring His will on earth as it is in Heaven.  Through faith in Christ and His work for us on Calvary, we now can not only be what we our creator fashioned us to be, but we can do what He wants us to do (For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure, Phil. 2:13).  Satan opposes believers because we are God's children, His body, His bride.  We are the instruments through which God's will is done on earth.  He hates us because he hates our Heavenly Father who loves us.

What is deliverance and how do I receive it?

There Jesus said in John Chapter 8 Verse 34: "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin."  Sin is not just a bad habit.  Sin has the power to enslave and ultimately destroy.  The Bible tells us that Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil (I John 3:8). He came to set the captives free.  It was for freedom that Christ set us free;...(Gal. 5:1). Deliverance is simply the act of a loving Heavenly Father honoring His commitment to us that if we confess our sin, that He would be faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Deliverance is getting rid of all the hindrances in our lives that are keeping us from becoming like Christ.  Jesus is the deliverer.  We must humble ourselves and ask Him to remove anything that is not of Him in our hearts and lives.  Every stronghold of the Enemy in our lives is based on a lie that we have believed instead of God's Word.  Confess your sin of believing the lie of the Enemy and receive in its place the truth of God's Word and you can be set free (John 8:32).

When is this Invisible War coming to an end?

The Word of God tells us in Rev. 20:10, "And the Devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."  There is coming a day when the Invisible War with the forces of darkness will come to a final end.  It will be when Christ comes to the earth to rule and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords this battle with the forces of darkness will be over.  It is essential for us to understand that the victory in The Invisible War with these Principalities and Powers of Darkness is already won through our union in Christ Jesus and what He did for us on Calvary.  We do not fight these spiritual battles toward victory, we fight from victory.  Ask the Lord to come into your heart today.  Trust Him to save you from your sins.  Receive Christ as your Savior-Deliverer and Lord.  Ask Him today to cleanse your heart from everything that would keep you from God and His will in your life.
